Both Re and Al lost weight by switching to a plant-based diet. Find out what advice they have for people trying to lose weight...

If you are trying to lose weight, sometimes having a partner can help in a big way!

The Doctors welcome sisters Alex and Re, who have both lost 100 pounds during the pandemic. Instead of letting the shutdown squash their efforts to stay active and make healthy food choices, they worked together to stay inspired and reach their goals.

Alex says working with her sister -- who she also lives with -- has made their weight loss journey easier in some ways, sharing, "We're able to hold ourselves accountable and tell each other the straight-up honest truth." Re explains having the same goals helped in their weight loss journey, telling The Doctors if at any point one of them slips they are able to identify it and work to get back on track.

So how did the sisters lose so much weight, while so many of us were baking bread and binging TV for the last year? The sisters say the pandemic allowed them to spend more time outdoors, where they stayed active by walking and they also cooked at home more and made sure to prepare healthy meals. The two also share they eat mostly a plant-based diet.

Now that they have dropped a significant amount of weight, Alex and Re say they will continue to work on lowering their body fat while also working on improving their athletic abilities through workouts, running, races, climbing, and biking. The sisters say that having friendly sibling rivalry and two competitive spirits helps to keep each of them motivated as they work on their fitness goals.

To help Alex and Re continue on their healthy journey, our friends at Sprouts are gifting the twins a $2000 gift card.
