More than Food
How did we take back control of our lives?
It was a combination of the motivation to be happy and healthy again and to do what makes us happy! This comes up as a topic in a lot of our videos, because you have to just SAY YES and never look back. On January 13th, 2020 we decided that we needed to drastically change how we were eating. The only way to do this was to completely let go of control and follow the Whole 30 elimination diet plan. Doing this together as a team has been one of the biggest successes!!
Doing What We Love
As soon as we started working full time, we put our entire selves into the job. We both ended up losing ourselves and started to lose our personalities and stopped enjoying the things we love! We started going to concerts again and taking trips to the mountains on the weekend to let go and enjoy!
Working Out
As former athletes, we were used to working out 2-3 hours a day!! After 2 years of minimal exercise, we were completely out of shape and could not move like we used to. In the summer of 2019 we signed up for a new gym and made it a priority to be there consistently. This only made us better, happier, and motivated to try new types of workouts both indoors and outdoors!
Putting Ourselves First
We made life changes and used more of our day to focus on our well-being!! The results and feelings of happiness are almost instantaneous! The Whole 30 is an incredible diet tool to get in touch with your body and how what you eat daily impacts your emotion, motivation and even relationships!
Taking the First Step
Being open and vocal about wanting to lose the weight! This helps the people around you to be supportive. After talking to family and friends and getting support from them, working out with us and making meals with us, we realized this was a lifestyle change we needed to make as soon as possible!
